December 2024: Paying attention to the shifting theme of my dreams
In a dream I was given (by my Auntie Mari and some stranger friends of her immediate family), a watch - which I chose from a selection. It was contained within a duck egg blue / grey matchbox which had a sparkling emerald on top of it. Inside the box above the watch was a little plastic holly leaf. Amid pink tissue paper laid a tiny antique, gold watch with a round face and beside this maybe the head of a statue or something orange. Interpretation: Emerald = royalty, wit, eloquence and foresight; The Jewel of Kings and the May birthstone. Holly leaf = fertility, eternal life, thought to have magical powers; the crown of thorns worn by Christ, while the berries represent his blood. Gold watch = striving for a sense of completeness or recognition, wealth, good luck, happiness, healing. Presages wealth thanks to hidden talents. Estranged aunt gifting me a gold watch = I will receive great news in the future; [according to Carl Jung] I am seeing a part of myself which has been estranged, rejected. The qualities I associate most with that unincluded family member, are the qualities I am distanced from in myself - a step towards loving myself just the I am; I miss my auntie; symbolically the gold signifies the receiving of a very special gift that is emotional or spiritual in nature; a shiny symbol of reassurance, a message for me to be bolder in pursuit of my goals - and to be at peace.
